The Department of Information Science offers the following graduate degrees:
Master of Science with major in Information Science (MS-IS)
Designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to function as information professionals in a variety of information agencies, and all types of libraries.
Master of Science with major in Library Science (MS-LS)
The Master of Science with a major in Library Science (MS-LS) is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to function as information professionals in a variety of information organizations, including public libraries, academic libraries, or special libraries maintained by government agencies, corporations, law firms, medical centers, or museums.
Master of Science in Data Science
Designed to meet the rising demand for highly skilled data science and data analytics professionals. It prepares students for careers in data science and analytics with a broad knowledge of the required tools, techniques, and methods.
Master of Science in Health Informatics
The Master of Science in Health Informatics (MS-HI) program at UNT is designed to educate leaders in health informatics who can apply data science and information management methods and techniques to improve the delivery of healthcare with a patient-centered focus in diversified environments.
Master of Science with School Librarian Certification
Students who are interested in earning a Master's degree while pursuing School Librarian Certification may also pursue the Master of Science in Library Science or Information Science degree program.
Biomedical Engineering and Data Science
Earn two Master's degrees in two years.
