In collaboration with the Manchester City Library, the Department of Information Science offers its ALA-Accredited Master of Science in Library Science (LS) or Information Science (IS) to a cohort of students residing in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and surrounding states beginning in Spring 2022. Experience the uniqueness of an affordable Master's program that blends 100% online instruction with onsite networking and professional events. This blended approach provides the opportunity to become part of a learning community of students who will begin studies together and finish in 2 years. The start date for the next cohort is January 2022, however admission to the program is continuous.
The cohort approach combines a highly interactive online experience and onsite professional opportunities to build and sustain a vibrant learning community. There will also be on-site events available throughout the three states, including advising sessions and activities at the State Library Associations.
The University of North Texas - Department of Information Science has a long history of providing high-quality programs at sites that are often many miles from the home campus in Denton. In receiving accreditation renewal by the American Library Association, the Committee on Accreditation commended the School for its outreach efforts.
