Tech Explorer Camp

What is Tech Explorer Camp for Middle and High School Students? 
This is a camp for those who want to learn more about a variety of technologies and how to use them in their lives, accessible to learners at any age/stage/interests. This camp will introduce students to a variety of information science careers, including user experience researcher, information technology specialist, and library and information professional. The five-day camp will run from 9am to 3pm, with a half-hour lunch and two ten-minute breaks, focusing on human-computer interaction, informatics, misinformation, and the future of working with technology. Students should bring laptops. The camp will start at a basic level and grow in skill-level difficulty as the week progresses.

Program Benefits

$350 for the 5-day camp. Meals are not included.

NextGen DATA Leadership Camp

What is the Next Generation Leadership for Data Analytics and Technological Advancement Summer Camp for High School Students? 
This program will foster interest in information science and data science within local DFW communities and develop the next generation of leaders within these fields. This will be a five-day camp with each day running from 9am to 3pm, with a half-hour lunch and two ten-minute breaks. Each day aligns with one or both of the topics of data analytics and technological advancement (e.g., basic concepts of data science, interaction with AI/chatbots, human-technology interaction, programming). Interactive activities in this camp will emphasize the principles of leadership and teamwork within data science. Students should bring laptops. Focusing on Python programming, data analytics, text analysis - this is a technical camp for programmers - intended for high school students with a passion for coding and analytics. The camp will start at a basic level and grow in skill-level difficulty as the week progresses. Watch a video summary from a previously hosted camp.
