The Agentic AI for Information Systems Graduate Academic Certificate program prepares students to lead in the rapidly evolving world of human-AI collaboration. As organizations increasingly adopt AI agents and intelligent systems, there is growing demand for professionals who can connect technical AI capabilities with real-world business strategy, ethics, and innovation.

What You'll Learn

Students will gain hands-on experience designing and managing AI-driven systems while developing the communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills employers value most. With a strong focus on responsible AI, multi-agent collaboration, and practical application, graduates will be prepared for emerging careers such as AI Agent Specialist, AI Workforce Manager, and other leadership roles shaping the future of work.

Certificate Courses

All 12 credit hours of coursework taken for the Agentic AI for Information Systems GAC can be applied to the following graduate degrees: M.S. in Information Science.

Course Requirements

Required Courses (Students will complete all of the following courses): 

INFO 5701: AI Tools for Information Scientists (3 hours)

 

DTSC 5737: Human-Centered AI: Design and Implementation (3 hours)

 

INFO 5715: Vibe Coding: Human-AI Collaboration for Rapid Information System Development (3 hours)

 

INFO 5719: Human-AI Multi-Agent Interaction Design (3 hours)

 

Prerequisites
Some courses listed may have prerequisites. Students should consult with the program advisors prior to enrolling in the individual courses.

Note: Students who are awarded Graduate Academic Certificates and later apply for admission to the M.S. in Information Science will be required to submit any additional documents required by the specific program. 

Current Graduate Students seeking Concurrent Enrollment

Students MUST be admitted to an academic certificate program in order for the certificate to be awarded.

If you are a current UNT student and you are applying for a GAC please email ci-advising@unt.edu to submit your request to add a GAC to your degree plan.

If you do not complete the application prior to your graduating semester, the Toulouse Graduate School will not accept your request for the certificate.

Once You Are Admitted

Once admitted, you will be assigned an advisor who will assist you in getting enrolled for classes and beginning the Graduate Academic Certificate Program.

Academic Certificate Completion Form and Request to Receive Your Certificate

Once you complete your course work, please submit the Request for Graduate Academic Certificate of Completion form to receive your certificate.
