Hesam Akbari

Hesam Akbari is a data scientist with a deep specialization in brain signal processing and mental disorders, backed by a strong foundation in neuroscience. He has developed innovative software that aids medical teams and psychiatrists in the detection of mental disorders.

Hesam's research, published in high-impact journals, demonstrates his extensive expertise in signal processing, image processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Before beginning his Ph.D. in Data Science at the University of North Texas, he collaborated with researchers from across the world, including China, England, Australia, Pakistan, Italy, Sweden, South Korea, Malaysia, and Iran.

His research interests are primarily focused on Signal and Image Processing and Machine Learning, with a particular emphasis on biomedical data processing, chaotic systems, feature engineering, feature extraction, feature selection, and classification. Hesam has significantly contributed to projects aimed at detecting mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, seizures, and alcoholism through the analysis of brain signals.

Currently, his Ph.D. research centers on predicting the effectiveness of medical therapies using brain signals under Professor Korani’s supervision.
