Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IASL Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and Conference Host Committee have made the decision to postpone the 2020 Annual Conference scheduled to take place 8-12 June 2020 in Denton, Texas. The new dates for the conference will be July 12-16, 2021 in Denton, Texas, at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Next year’s conference will be a part of the Association’s 50th year celebration.
IASL President, Katy Manck, made the announcement today, stating what a difficult decision it was, but that “the health, safety and well-being of our attendees is of paramount importance.”
DIS and Texas Women’s University School of Library and Information Studies will remain the hosts and co-sponsors for the 2021 conference, and will continue to collaborate to host a successful conference dedicated to the advancement of theory and practice in school librarianship. The theme for the 2021 will remain the same: "A Rich Tapestry of Practice and Research around the World."
Early registration for the 2021 conference will be from January 1 - March 31, 2021, with standard registration dates of April 1 – July 11, 2021.
Participants who had already registered for the 2020 conference have the option of applying their registration fee to the 2021 conference, or requesting a refund. Registrants will be contacted via email regarding their options.
