Dr. Ana Cleveland's Lifetime Achievement in Libraries

Dr. Ana Cleveland, Sarah Law Kennerly Endowed Professor, Regents Professor and Director of the College of Information Health Informatics Program is a recipient of the 2024 Lifetime Achievement award by the Texas Library Association.

The Texas Library Association Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a librarian who has been a long-standing member of TLA. The award recognizes an exemplary career in librarianship, an extended record of services, active participation in professional organizations, and creative leadership and service to the library profession.

Endowed Professor, Dr. Cleveland, developed the LIS specialization in Health Informatics, a program that is nationally ranked and recognized across several platforms, most notably by the U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Cleveland has become a pillar for the College of Information, inspiring faculty, staff, and students alike. She has made waves within the field and continues to motivate those around her every day.

Dedicating her time to teaching the new generation of students, and supporting students in their endeavors of Library Science, Dr. Cleveland has displayed nothing but utmost dedication. The Texas Library Association proudly recognized her for the award, and alumni and current students were eager to send their congratulations face-to-face within the conference hall.

While being a TLA member, Dr. Ana Cleveland not only appreciates the work of TLA for herself, she has also sponsored and supported several students to allow them such a grand experience. This level of engagement opened a connection between current students and alumni, allowing those attending to gain better understanding about the world of librarianship. With generosity and kindness, Dr. Cleveland continues to lead those around her to success.
