A School Librarian Toolkit for Facilitating the Success of English Learners

The School Librarians Facilitating the Success of English Language Learners Project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. One of the goals of the project is to create a toolkit with resources and research-based strategies that school librarians can use for working with ELLs. This webinar is designed to debut the preliminary toolkit and project results. The presenter will be Dr. Daniella Smith.

Dr. Daniella Smith is UNT’s Hazel Harvey Peace Endowed Professor in Children’s Library Services.
(The Professorship honors Hazel Harvey Peace, an educator, activist, and community leader.)
Dr. Smith serves as the Director of the Information Science Ph.D. program and is the founding director of the UNT Multiple Literacies Lab.
Her recent projects include aspects that explore school librarian leadership development,
youth information-seeking behaviors, and STEM skill acquisition in K-12 schools.
She is the principal investigator of
the Institute of Museum and Library Services (RE-250111-OLS-21) funded project
“School Librarians Facilitating the Success of English Language Learners.”
