Capstone Experience - Examination or Advanced Topic Seminars

This capstone experience applies to students who were accepted into the Master of Science in Library Science or Information Science degree program AND have enrolled in classes PRIOR TO Fall 2019.

In addition to completing the 36 hours of required coursework, students in the Master of Library Science or Information Science program must complete the Capstone Experience. You may know this capstone experience as the End of Program assessment, and specifically the End of Program Examination. The requirements for this remain the same.

Students will choose ONE of the following two options to complete their degree:

1.  The End of Program (EOP) Examination which is taken in the last semester of the student's graduate program.

OR:

2.  Two advanced seminar courses referred to as Advanced Topic Seminars (ATS).  Students who choose this option will complete the first seminar course (INFO 5970) after completing their first 18 hours of coursework and then complete the second course (INFO 5980) after successfully completing the first course.

These two 3 credit hour courses are to be completed in addition to the already required 36 hours of graduate coursework, as well as fulfilling the practicum requirement.
