IS alumna, Dr. Sharon Jenkins, has been awarded the New Mexico Academic Librarian of the Year (2018 - 2019) by the New Mexico Consortium of Academic Librarians (NMCAL).
This prestigious award is given annually to a member of NMCAL in recognition of significant accomplishments in academic librarianship.
Sharon graduated from UNT in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Information Science. She is currently the Director of Library Services at the New Mexico State University – Alamogordo. Prior to this role, she served as the Director of Library Services at the New Mexico Junior College.
Dr. Jenkins is actively involved in several professional associations, and has served in several leadership roles, including President of the New Mexico Library Association from 2015-2016, and President of the NMCAL in 2003-2004.
