LIS Assistantship / Fellowship Application

Assistantships and Fellowships are awarded primarily on the basis of a student’s academic record, potential as a degree candidate, and demonstrated leadership, teaching, or research activities. Applicants must be formally admitted into a graduate program in the Department of Library and Information Sciences. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission are not eligible for such awards. 

General Responsibilities of Assistantships

·         Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTF) direct instruction independent of faculty

·         Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) assist faculty with their instruction

·         Graduate Research Assistants (GRA) assist faculty with their scholarly research
