Greater LA Cohort

The IS Department is currently enrolling a new cohort of students for the Greater LA Cohort to begin study in Fall 2017. The first Onsite Institute will be held September 1- 4, 2017.

The Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas will begin a fifth Greater Los Angeles area Cohort in the fall of 2017. The Department is committed to the cohort approach because of the structure and community that it provides.

This program features a strong emphasis on the challenges and opportunities that are distinctive to the management of libraries and library collections and services in a diverse urban context. Guest presenters and field experiences at L.A. public, university, corporate, and private libraries in various communities help participants link their academic course work to the realities of library practice in this region and also serve as faculty in several courses.

Onsite instruction includes two Onsite Institutes to be held in the Greater LA area. Location TBA.

The University of North Texas Department of Information Science has a long history of providing high-quality programs at sites that are often many miles from the home campus in Denton. In receiving its current accreditation renewal by the American Library Association, the Committee on Accreditation commended the School for its outreach efforts.

Applications are now being accepted for admission to the next cohort. Information about the application process can be found by visiting the Admissions Process page.
