College of Information names new Dean

The College of Information is pleased to announce that it has named Kinshuk as its new dean. Kinshuk, who is formerly the associate dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada, will begin his new role with the college on August 15, 2016.  

Kinshuk served as an associate dean at Athabasca University, leading the Faculty of Science and Technology since 2010. In that role, he was successful in a number of undertakings, including facilitating the introduction of new graduate programs, research funding, and promoting mentorship opportunities for students and alumni. He has also served as director in the School of Computing and Information Systems. He has more than 500 research publications in journals, conferences and book chapters, and is involved in many professional associations and activities at international and national levels.

Born in Kota, India, Kinshuk received his doctoral degree from De Montfort University in England, a master of science in mechanical computer aided engineering from Strathclyde University in Scotland and a bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical) from University of Rajasthan in India.
